MultitrackStudio 6.5. Supported Sample Formats (loads or saves) include Giga, SF2, sfz

Bremmers Audio Design has released MultitrackStudio 7.1. The new version comes with several new features and improvements:

  • New Vocal Tuner effect.

  • New Transposer effect.

  • Automatic effect delay compensation.

  • VariSpeed can now be adjusted while transport is running (but not while recording). (Pro Plus edition).

  • New "Speed Only" VariSpeed mode changes speed 50..150% without changing pitch. Doesn't work while recording. (Pro Plus edition).

  • Effects in Group/Effect Return/Master sections can use tracks and group busses as sidechain source. (Pro Plus edition).

  • Track sidechains can now be stereo. (Pro Plus edition).

  • VSTi/AUi with multiple outputs: Up to 30 outputs can now be sidechain source (was 15). (Pro Plus edition).

  • Can drag effects from mixer sections to track editor's Audio Edit Control.

  • Grid bars (above editors): double clicking thumb starts transport, clicking anywhere on grid bar stops it.

  • Overview Bar: double clicking thumb starts transport, clicking thumb again stops it.

  • Redesigned "Mix down to audio file" window, it can now optionally remember the destination folder.

  • "Record Master" is no longer limited to two audio channels (Pro Plus edition).

  • "To Next Song" control surface action added.

  • Faders and rotary knobs let you type value after Ctrl+click (Windows) / Cmd-click (Mac).

  • Clean Up tool (Song Properties window) now lists unused alternate/partial takes as well.

  • Effect/Instrument selectors show format (VST/AU/DX) if the effect is available in multiple formats.

  • EQ spectrum display updates faster. Averaged "Output" or "Master Out" spectrum reflects changes immediately after turning knobs.

  • Mac: Some AU instruments, like step sequencers, couldn't sync their transport to MultitrackStudio transport.

  • Mac: EQ spectrum display graphics issue.

  • A couple of other fixes.

Previous Update: Bremmers Audio Design has updated MultitrackStudio to version 7.01.

Changes:

  • Changing fade type in multitrack editor caused error.

  • Some exception errors caused more problems than necessary.

  • Some VST plugins would crash if song recorded in Mac version was opened in Windows version or vice versa.

  • Error if Outputs setting in Song Properties window exceeded 48 (Pro Plus edition).

  • "Show tooltips" setting was always on again after restarting the program.

  • Wizard is more robust.

  • (Windows) Fixed 'Cannot focus a disabled or invisible window' error.

  • (Windows) The settings file sometimes couldn't be written to.

  • (Windows) VistaSound driverset better handles unplugging USB audio devices.

  • (Windows 64 bit) Error if Compressor's Ratio and Knee knobs were turned up all the way (vintage programs).

  • (Mac) Outputs of AU Instrument having multiple outputs couldn't be used as sidechain sources (Pro Plus edition).

  • (Mac) Error occurred if audio recording and playback devices didn't have any supported samplerates in common.

  • (Mac) Control Surface Settings window "Info" button didn't work with most presets.

  • (Mac) Numerical keypad Enter key didn't work.

  • (Mac) Some cosmetic issues.

  • A couple of other fixes.

 

Previous Update: Bremmers Audio Design has released version 7.0 of MultitrackStudio, which includes the release of the first Mac version.

The Mac version supports all the features of the Windows version except touchscreen support, VST plug-in bridging and DX plug-in support. On the plus side it supports Audio Unit plug-ins. The Mac version works with OS X 10.7 (Lion) and 10.6 (Snow Leopard).

Projects created in the Mac version work in the Windows version and vice versa.

The Windows versions have been updated as well. The new version includes a new color theme and some improvements and bug fixes:

New:

  • New Standard color theme.

  • Better DPI scaling.

  • All versions now support.aif files (was Pro Plus only).

  • Onscreen MIDI keyboard now works while MIDI Keyboard Splitter window is visible.

  • Mousewheel on small strips on left/right side now scrolls mixer sections vertically.

Fixed:

  • "Bridged" VST plug-ins received incorrect tempo information.

  • Master Limiter's RMS meter didn't work at 192 kHz sample rate.

  • A couple of other fixes.

Technical details:

  • 32 bit audio processing.

  • HP-TPD dithering with or without noiseshaping.

  • 44.1/48 kHz samplerate (Pro Plus edition supports 88.2/96/176.4/192 kHz as well).

  • 16 bit audio files (Pro Plus edition supports 24/32 bit and 32 bit floating point as well).

  • Stereo soundcards supported using ASIO, WaveRT, MME or DirectSound drivers.

  • The Pro Plus edition supports multichannel recording (up to 64 channels, using ASIO driver).

  • Audio engine can utilise up to 8 CPUs.

  • Automation (Pro Plus edition only) is sample accurate, except for VST/DX plugins.
