DDMF Metaplugin

DDMF has released version 2.1 of Metaplugin. From now on, a synthesizer version is shipped along with the effect version, so that users can build their own meta-instruments. Metaplugin is now also available in 64 bit for Mac OS X (10.5 and higher, Intel only).

Furthermore, a VST/AU plugin version of ChordDetector ($15) has been released, as well as the standalone Windows app Virtual Audio Recorder ($15), which is designed to provide a simple way of all-you-can-hear recording under Windows.

Previous Updtes:

DDMF has updated their 6144 equalizer to version 1.0.2 and the Metaplugin to version 2.0.2.

Changes in 6144:

  • Some automation issues were fixed.

Changes in Metaplugin:

  • Parameter exposure to the host has been rewritten.

  • Up to 100 parameters can now be mapped onto parameters of plug-ins loaded into Metaplugin.

  • Automation is now enabled for Audio Unit as well as VST.

Previous Update: DDMF has released version 2.0 of the effect chainer Metaplugin.

Changes:

  • MIDI control is implemented, which means that not only effects but also synths can be loaded and played in every possible combination.

  • All effect parameters are now passed through to the host program

  • Metaplugin is a flexible piece of software that loads other VST and AU plug-ins and lets you interconnect them arbitrarily. Plug-ins can be dragged onto the freely resizeable interface, connections are made by dragging cables between the in- and outputs of the loaded effects. Chains can be saved so that the user can build custom effects out of existing modules.

As an extra, a flat-summing four band crossover filter and a mid-side matrix are included in the package. This way, multi-band and mid-side versions of existing plug-ins can be built instantly.

Metaplugin supports up to 6 in-out-channels. The user can load it, e.g., into a 5.1 channel of the host and chain plug-ins on all six channels (and across channels). Also, the dry/wet amount going through each of the loaded plug-ins can be adjusted (shift-clicking on the plug-in rectangles turns them into horizontal sliders).
