Support related questions

Q: What about support?

A: We maximize our efforts to answer on all questions during one business day, even provide free support to unregistered users that want to buy our products.

Please before writing to us, take a look at the
FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) and if you can't find the answer you are looking for, send us an email with the following information:

Syntheway Product (Check that you have latest version)
Host Application (Name & Version number)
A very detailed description of the problem

We intend to respond to your queries, but we will naturally give priority to registered users.
Your inquiry will be answered in the order in which it is received. Sometimes due to the volume of e-mail received, there may be some delay.

Phone support: currently we don't provide phone-based support. We found that sometimes we need to request some test from the customers or we help you by giving a screenshot (screen capture) or video, or providing detailed information step by step about related issue (VST/VST3/Audio Units host application or VST/VST3/Audio Units plugins), or direct links to certain FAQ pages, so we found that support via email is more effective than phone-based support.
Anyway, we usually reply on emails during the same business day.

Q: When I try to install a plug-in on my Mac, I get error messages like "File damaged", "The file can't be opened", etc.”

A: Although our plugins are code-signed and notarized with Apple, you may receive a warning because they are not downloaded from the App Store and may not be recognized as safe applications. Gatekeeper has become much stricter in MacOS Catalina (and later), causing problems especially with plugins. Therefore, depending on your security settings, if you try to install the plugins and a pop-up warning appears ("File damaged", "Cannot be opened", etc.), you can safely enable these plugins.

Q: The operation can’t be completed because one or more required items can’t be found. (Error code -43)

A: Error code 43 stands for an error that happens when your Mac cannot locate the file in question and thus cannot complete the requested action, e.g. copying it, or moving it to a different folder. Steps to get rid of error code -43

A: You can allow individual VST 2 instrument plug-ins that you want to use in Dorico Pro and block plug-in you want to prevent Dorico Pro from using. Allowed plug-ins are subsequently available in any project. More details can be found HERE
